Jockey Club Report - Be Vague Be Hopeful Do Nothing

What's one more report to throw on the ol' fridge?  I wonder if it will come to fruition. The 9 points Increased television coverage.*** A free-to-play website. Fewer, better races and better scheduling to increase field size and showcase the best product.*** Innovative wagering platforms. Track-integrated Advance Deposit Wagering. Racing integrity forms.*** Encouragement of ownership through greater transparency*** Dissemination of best practices from tracks around the country.*** ***It was 3 years ago when a group came together and spelled out pretty much the same thing for the marketing representatives and head of the NTRA.  In compensation we got a great trip out to Las Vegas and got to rub shoulders with some great people.  3 years later it seems like a missed opportunity.  Read the report here (PDF).   And as Alan notes, it's not like there's ever anything Earth shattering in these reports that others haven't brought up in the past.  It happens almost every other year.  The industry is in distress - pay some consultants - waltz out a report - get people to say their eyes have been opened - do nothing - repeat.  It's infuriating and I refuse to get excited about anything till i see the end results.  I want to see something big.
