Ughh

What do Jess Alba, Jack Black, Jon Stewart, Conan O'Brien, Jaime Foxx, Damon Wayans, Jack Black (yes 2 times), Sam L Jackson, Jimmy Kimmel, and Lance Armstrong all have in common? They are all cooler than Jerry O'Connel. Yes for the 2nd time in two years J.O. will be hosting the gala that is the Eclipse Awards. I try and try to figure this out but it just hurts my brain. The average age of attendance at the Eclipse awards is what 45-50? You have old owners, writers, jockeys, trainers, and their in the midst of the smell of old people you have the stench of Jerry O'Connell. Are they trying to appeal to the young crowd? Do they all think he's still famous from Stand By Me? What the hell gives? I did find a few pictures of JO at the Derby looking bewildered and no where near the good seats, and now he's hosting the main awards show for the industry. At least bump him up to the good seats next time. Is that all it takes? A few times to the Derby and a phone number in the LA county phone book? What about all those famous people on the "who do you like commercial" are they all busy, Kid Rock, Rick Pitino, when was the last time anyone saw Joe Pesci? He's got to be free. I think the world I know is coming apart all around me. They can't possibly think this is going to fly 2 years in a row. Last year was awkward silence's favorite night of the year for crissake. Is JO even "famous?" He was #70 on the VH1 kids stars of ALL TIME, so he's got that going for him, and that's nice. And now he's 2 time host of the Eclipse Awards. I should have just ended this post at the title: Ughh.
