Track Ratings

HANA finally put out the raw data of it's track rating system. And, I've gone in and put them on a bell curve and weighted everything the same. If a track didn't offer a bet w/ a takeout I put the max in from the group. I gave a 1 to tracks that had things like .10 supers and 0 if not. I guess you could weight it, but it seems pretty close to reality to me.

So do you think the bell curve makes more sense?

I'm happy to see Monmouth make the biggest jump from 44th to 14th

One thing an independent body in racing needs to do about racing is look at uncoupled entries. Bruce Headley had an uncoupled entry in the 6th race at Del Mar today, and his 5-1 shot won, while the 9-5 favorite finished third. It appears these uncoupled entries in California usually see the higher priced horse do better than the lower priced. It sends a bad message.

As soon as Saratoga and Del Mar complete their meets, racing is in for drastically lower mutuel pools for the fall meets in their respective states as compared to years past.
