A shoot off from my first post was that I really didn't know what was going on at the national level. And what I want to do right now is throw up a 15,000 word post about what I know now. However, that won't do any good. Who wants to read 15 of my words? Not even my mom. I want to let you in on the NTRA advantage and Horseplayers Coalition: How they are both good, how they both want to pay you back, and are linked.NTRA Advantage - My perception was that it was owners, breeders, track workers, you know people on the inside who were a part of this. The companies I most associated with it was John Deere, and I'm not in the market for a bailer anytime soon. I WAS WRONG (you'll see this a lot). Have you ever been to Office Depot, painted your house, or bought a TV? Well, those things are on the list for NTRA advantage as well. But you, like me are on the outside. Well, I thought it was for tracks buying flatscreens for their plant, painting bleachers, or sending packages from one track to the other as well. I'm an outsider, I'm on the outside. I WAS WRONG. If you are a fan of horseracing, the NTRA wants to reward you. Does anyone know about the Entertainment books fund raisers use to raise money? They are the size of 3 telephone books, supposedly can save you a million dollars, but you end up using it once for coupons and the rest of the time as a door stop. Well the NTRA Advantage, is like that but better (not as a door stop). True, some partners aren't for us fans, but more than enough are. So, how did I join. That gets me to the horseplayers coalition. Have you ever made a bet at a track? Ok, bottom line: You should join. I thought that the $25 goes to the man, never to be heard from again. I WAS WRONG. You get to be a part of the NTRA advantage and all their benefits. Maybe you want to know what you're paying for. What is the HPC? A couple things. They are probably best known for the Handicapping tour. Personally, that's not my thing, (probably one of many reasons I was wrong about them). But what they really stand for is here. I'm not a big bettor, so a lot of this I was indifferent about. My bad again. (I can only say I'm wrong so many times). However, if I ever win a 300-1 bet in my life it will be thanks to them I pay less taxes. Furthermore, the players who are the engine of this sport need relief and they want this, and as long as they're happy that keeps me happy. Most importantly, they are outside the NTRA, but they are working with them. Think of them as a permanent thorn in their side. And for being this thorn, they get rewarded (NTRA Advantage). The tie between the two is totally buried in the website (HERE:a membership in the Horseplayers' Coalition entitles you to outstanding discounts on great products through the NTRA Advantage purchasing program). But I want you all to see it, and if you have a friend who bets on horses and buys stuff, but maybe not reads my blog regularly email this blog post to them (and tell them to read my blog). Oh and in step 4 - "How did you learn about the NTRA" put down Handride Blog f'ing rocks or something to that effect. I mean bloodhorse didn't know I was at the marketing meeting (notice my non-"ness" here) but a real writer like Richard Eng noticed all of us ;-D I kid. Esther was great, probably a typo, no hard feelings. Ok - Do you buy things? Do you go to the track? Sign-up for $25, best bet you can make. Any questions? Leave comments. |
