Guadalcanal - Belmont Preview

Are you looking for Big Brown to bounce? Are you looking for a turning point? Well there is no better named horse than the maiden Guadalcanal. Who? Exactly. All the mainstream media can come up with is found on Bloodhorse. Summary: Hasn't broke his maiden, but he ran almost as fast on the turf one day as they did the next in a Grade III. Unfortunately for Mr Seitz Guadalcanal will have to run on dirt at the same time Big Brown runs this weekend. So much for their plan. But Guadalcanal was a turning point. The Japanese were threatening. They made a few attempts by land, by air, by sea (OMG coincidence... UPS delivers the same way!) Eventually the Americans just had too many troops and a better operation. The Japanese were on the retreat forever afterwards (OMG coincidence BB might not start after the Belmont!). So there you have the angles that truly matter. In other news Do You like Jeannine Edwards? I'm sticking w/ ESPN faces this week, as that's easiest for me. Anyways, Jeannine has only been around for a year or two. She's one of the skinniest woman I've seen in person, and was on hand when the horse fell over backwards in the KEE paddock last year and asked some tough questions after everyone's try hard horse Teuflesberg broke down as well. That's her pictured to the right, we worry about these animals on such skinny legs, but what about her! She got her start as a jock at Belmont and Aqueduct, though I'm not sure when.
