As noted before, you have to have someone w/ a funny accent if you hope to have a good show in the US. Frank Lyons is Irish and has a funny accent, but he's also pretty funny. I've seen him take everyone he's ever been on the set with to task about something and come out on top. I guess when you're matching wits with Schrupp it's not that hard to look good. His connections to horse racing, like many in the analyst game, run the gamut. He was partial owner of Castledale, worked for Dermot Weld, Jonabell farm, and Fabio Nor. Wait what, he has a blogger ID , maybe he'll speak for himself. His best work in my opinion is on the Works prior to the DerbyOn to the other foreigner, this time a Englishman, Simon Bray. If you didn't know (sarcastic) he helped train Cigar. He was an understudy to both Bill Mott and Henry Cecil. Seems like Simon is the traveling analyst as I've seen him in Tokyo, the Bahamas I think, Kentucky and New York. I'm not sure who holds the record, but I wouldn't be surprised it's Bray, for most pick-4's hit. He seems to always be alive.Anyways, do you like these guys? |
