Adena Racing Venture - Harlem Rocker

Harlem Rocker is not going to the Gr I Queen's Plate. To say I'm upset about this is an understatement.

I've written about this ad nauseum. I enjoy the ARV, I'm having fun, but Frank didn't do this right. These aren't his horses, they are ours, but he treated them as such. I do not have a problem with pointing to the Queen's Plate. That makes sense: He's a Canadian bred with some of the best beyers in this year's 3yo crop, Canadian or not. It's a million dollar Gr I stallion making race, I'm all for it. I'm against going against your trainer. And, that's what he did. Pletcher was a "go" on running him in the Preakness. Against one of the most dominating winner's of the Derby ever. Pletcher was for it! We didn't strike while the iron was hot.

We skipped:
The Preakness - Would have been second choice, and can't not believe he would have hit the board. Never thought we'd win this, but the pay check for 2nd or 3rd was pretty nice.

The Met Mile - Would have been 2nd or 3rd choice, horse that won, Divine Park ran the same type of race Harlem Rocker would have run. The race that makes stallions, ugh.

The Woody Stephens - Won by J be K who we beat in the Withers.

We proved our horse didn't like poly in an ungraded 100k stakes race. Bad job.

We could have found this out in the Bluegrass, where Samba Rooster a horse we beat finished second.

What percentage of Harlem Rocker is yours? To suggest that you should have any say seems ludicrous to me.

I didn't say "I" should have a say, but winning the Queen's Plate is a much greater priority for Frank than it is for many of the partial owners this horse has. I'm not saying he should poll us before entering a race, but he should take a different approach to these horses than his others, they are not the same.

HR:

I too own a share in HR the horse and you hit the nail right on the head!

Preakness should have been his race, especially after that impressive workout that weekend in May.

I Also took a visit to Kentucky for the Derby and the word there was Preakness was the logical choice for HR, like Bernadini..

Too bad. Still a damn good horse, and he will show it again on dirt in the second half, but we have wasted some time here, and we gotta get him comfortable again on dirt and get his confidence up.

Amazing how he dislikes Poly, still finished fourth in good time, and had still a bullet work (1/70) on a surface he dislikes.. Gotta like HR!

This horse was on my rader and my posts on my blog pushed for him to run the Preakness. From an outside view I thought that was the spot. Good luck to you guys and I would love to see him run in the states on Dirt.

When you invest with a guy like Frank you invest not only in his bloodstock but also his decisions.

And if you don't like it then sell your share in the horse. It has to be worth more than what you bought it for at this point.
